Through your generosity, ReStore sells donated, new and lightly-used home goods and materials at discounted prices.This keeps usable goods out of landfills, enhancing local recycling efforts. ReStores’s proceeds support home construction programs that change people’s lives.


We accept items that can be made available for sale. We can’t accept items that need major repair; are missing parts; or are stained, cracked, broken, moldy, dirty or rusted. When picking up donations, ReStore drivers determine the acceptability of items to be donated.

We Can Accept

  • New, lightly-used vintage and antique solid wood furniture; new and like-new upholstered furniture
  • Decorative and vintage rugs, pictures, mirrors, clocks, vases, crystal, ceramics, etc.
  • Clean, working appliances (stoves, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, washers and dryers) less than 10 years old
  • Kitchen cabinet sets, matching countertops, stainless steel/ceramic/composite kitchen sinks and accessories
  • Bathroom vanities; tubs, showers, toilets and accessories
  • Working lamps and interior/exterior light fixtures
  • Working heaters, fireplaces and accessories; new and used air conditioners, floor/window fans and other small appliances and gadgets
  • Solid doors and double glazed
  • New and unused building materials, including dimensional lumber, insulation, complete roofing bundles and packaged tiles
  • New and lightly-used electrical, plumbing and carpentry supplies
  • Major non-automotive tools, including working power and vintage tools

We Can Not Accept

  • Composite/synthetic/pressed board furniture, commercial/industrial furniture, computer desks
  • Baby furniture, other infant/toddler items, play sets, swing sets, exercise/sports equipment, toys, games
  • Mattresses, box springs, metal bed frames, bedding, blinds, curtains, drapes, window treatment accessories
  • Cleaning products/equipment, wire shelving, storage unit components
  • Unframed glass, mirrors
  • Non-vintage or standard bakeware / cookware / dinnerware / drinkware / flatware, table linens
  • Dishwashers made after 2014, incomplete kitchen cabinet sets, kitchen faucets, orphan countertops
  • Computers, printers, TVs, phones, other electronic equipment
  • Commercial lighting, recessed can lights, fluorescent lights, ceiling fans
  • Flooring, wall-to-wall carpeting
  • Roof/attic ventilation, used duct work, water heaters
  • Doors that are hollow, solid composite or flush metal
  • Single-pane windows, storm windows, screens without windows
  • Used or damaged PVC pipes/elbow parts, composite sinks
  • Books, unless related to home building / recycling / reuse / refurbishment
  • Accessibility/safety equipment (walkers, wheelchairs, emergency alert devices, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, etc.)
  • Animal equipment/supplies
  • Partial cans of paint, oil-based paint, pesticides, fertilizers, other hazardous chemicals


What kinds of things do you accept for donation?

Do you pick up? How quickly can you pick up?

Yes, we’re happy to pick up. Usually we arrange a pickup within one week. At peak periods, it may take two to three weeks. Just call our Donations Coordinator at 518.822.8300 to confirm a date.

Can I deliver my donations?

Yes. Please call ahead to the Donations Coordinator at 518.822.8300 to check acceptability of intended donations, as well as the availability of volunteers to bring your donation into the store.

Will I get a receipt for my donations?

Yes. Whether you deliver or we pick up your donations, we’ll complete a detailed listing of donated items and provide you with a ReStore donation receipt.

Are my donations tax-deductible?


Can ReStore help value my donations?

No. Legally we are unable to value your donations.
