Come for a open round table discussion on the need for affordable housing for the farming communities of the Mid-Hudson Valley.
If what you do helps the Mid-Hudson Valley stay rural and you find it difficult to find affordable housing, please join us for this important discussion.
Share your impressions and aspirations regarding the ideal home to live in, what you consider affordable, and what your experience has been in trying to find good housing.
Listen to a presentation about the Rural Build—a community partnership with Columbia County Habitat for Humanity*—and the affordable homes for the rural workforce that will be breaking ground in 2018.
Whether you are
…a first-time homebuyer,
…interested in purchasing a home,
…already own a home but would prefer a new one,
…in search of an affordable home to rent,
…hoping to build a low-energy, low-impact home on farmland,
…know someone who is unable to find an affordable housing solution in the Mid Hudson Valley,
…or, simply want to join the conversation, please come.
We need to hear all ideas and concerns regarding affordable housing and homeownership. We are hosting this Affordable Housing Round Table so we can help find solutions to the affordable housing problem that we know our farming families and communities face. The Rural Build will begin to address this need by breaking ground on homes in Ancram in 2018. We will produce new homes based on what we hear from our farm families and farming communities.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
*Columbia County Habitat for Humanity builds affordable state-of-the-art, low-energy 3bd/2bth homes to sell to first-time homebuyers whose income isn’t sufficient to purchase a market rate home at a cost that is far below market-rate rent.
