ReStore Gets A New Truck

Have you seen these happy ReStore volunteers on their way to or from picking up donations?  If you haven’t yet, chances are excellent that come some Tuesday or the occasional Saturday, you will.

ReStore’s crack team (pictured l-r) – Kathy Schober from North Hillsdale, Bill Schneider from Stuyvesant and Paul Mossman from Ghent – hit the road every Tuesday and one Saturday a month to pick up donations from generous individuals and businesses. In October they broke their record for donations collected in a single day: 10 stops from Valatie to Ancramdale!

ReStore’s larger new truck enables us to provide better service by reducing the time between a donor’s call and our pickup. The bigger truck also means that we’re making fewer trips and carrying larger loads, reducing our carbon footprint.

Another bonus:  the truck gives ReStore much greater visibility, and that’s made an impact on donations. Several people have told us that seeing the truck on the road reminded them that they had things to donate to ReStore – and they did!

If you have items that ReStore can take, contact our donation coordinator at 518.822.8300 weekdays 9 to 5.

And if you see the ReStore truck, give Kathy, Bill and Paul a shoutout! They do love “their” truck!
